The National Arab Orchestra Dallas Chapter was created out of a desire for a place for Arab musicians to grow and share their music. Whether you call it serendipity or happenstance, through a series of connections, this group of passionate people was able to meet with Michael Ibrahim and a dream was brought to life. The first meetings took place in the winter of 2021, and rehearsals began in the spring of 2022. By the end of the spring semester, a community ensemble formed under the direction of Maestro Omar Abbad. This ensemble is a place where all people can learn, play, practice, and perform Arabic music. Some have grown up with the music and others are learning and discovering it for the first time.

Our mission statement is: To preserve and integrate Arab culture by creating memorable musical experiences through ed­ucation and performance with emphasis on the musical traditions of the Arab World.

We at the Dallas Chapter of the National Arab Orchestra need your support to continue our efforts in promoting Arab culture through the arts. As of now, we have all been volunteering our time and would like to start by compensating our conductor Omar Abbad for working with our musicians and adapting the music to each instrument and player.
